Totally Free Credit Report Everyone is entitled to one free credit report every year from each of the 3 major credit reporting agencies. You can get your credit reports at any time you like, all at once or in intervals. For example get one from Experian, wait four months get one from Trans Union and than in 4 more months get one from Equifax, then you can start all over again. In that example you would get 3 credit reports every year every four months.
Credit reports contain all your personal information. You will find your social security number, date of birth, old addresses, telephone numbers, work history, and all sorts of other information even your spouse. It is imperative that you keep your information accurate because your credit is one of your most important assets.
If you do not check on your credit report often you may have someone else's bad debt on your credit report. This happens more than you would believe. In fact statistics show that 2 out of 3 credit reports contain errors including public records, incorrect address and incorrect credit accounts. Don't be like most people who find out about a negative item on their credit report when they most need the credit they are applying for.
